Terms of Service

Effective Date: 1 June 2026  |  Last Updated: 1 June 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Aristone Optical. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website at www.aristoneopticians.com (the "Website") and all services provided by KADOPTICAL LTD, trading as Aristone Optical ("we", "us", "our").

By using our Website or engaging our services, whether in practice, by telephone, or online, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use our services or Website.

We are registered in England & Wales. Our practice is located at 356 North End Road, Fulham, London SW6 1LY. You may contact us at 020 7385 9772.

2. About Us & Regulatory Status

Aristone Optical is an independent optical practice that has served the Fulham community since 1956. Our registered optometrists and dispensing opticians are registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) in accordance with the Opticians Act 1989.

Our clinical staff comply with the GOC's Standards of Practice for Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (2026). The practice is operated by KADOPTICAL LTD.

You may verify the registration of any member of our clinical team via the GOC's public register at www.optical.org.

3. Our Services

We provide the following optical and eye care services:

  • Private and NHS eye examinations, including advanced diagnostics (OCT scans and digital retinal photography)

  • Dispensing, supply, and fitting of prescription spectacle frames and lenses, including designer eyewear

  • Same-day glasses, subject to prescription type and frame availability

  • Contact lens fitting, supply, and aftercare (daily, monthly, and specialist lenses)

  • Children's eye tests and myopia management programmes (Essilor Stellest, ZEISS MyoCare, CooperVision MiSight)

  • Private ophthalmology referrals where clinically indicated

  • NHS optical services for eligible patients, including acceptance of NHS optical vouchers

Service availability may vary. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or withdraw any service at our discretion. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice where possible.

4. Appointments & Cancellations

4.1 Booking

Appointments may be booked via our Website enquiry form, by telephone, or in person. Receipt of an enquiry does not constitute a confirmed appointment; confirmation will be provided separately.

4.2 Cancellations & Late Arrivals

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the time to other patients. Repeated failure to attend without notice may affect our ability to accommodate future bookings.

If you arrive late, we will endeavour to complete your appointment within the remaining time. In some cases, it may be necessary to reschedule to ensure you receive a thorough examination.

4.3 Emergency Appointments

If you experience sudden changes in vision, eye pain, or other urgent eye health concerns, please contact us as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate urgent cases.

5. Prescriptions

Following an eye examination, you are entitled to receive a copy of your prescription at no additional charge, in accordance with the Opticians Act 1989 and the Sight Testing (Examination and Prescription) (No. 2) Regulations 1989.

Your prescription is valid for the period specified on the document (typically two years for adults). We recommend that you have a regular eye examination as clinically advised. Aristone Optical does not guarantee the accuracy of prescriptions issued by third parties.

Prescriptions issued by Aristone Optical remain the clinical record of our registered optometrists and may not be altered.

6. NHS Services

We provide General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) under the NHS in England. Free NHS eye tests are available to patients who meet the eligibility criteria set by NHS England, including:

  • Patients aged 60 or over

  • Patients under 16 years of age

  • Patients aged 19 or under in full-time education

  • Patients receiving qualifying benefits (Universal Credit, Jobseeker's Allowance, Pension Credit, and others)

We also accept NHS optical vouchers towards the cost of spectacles and contact lenses for eligible patients. It is your responsibility to confirm your eligibility before your appointment. Providing false information to obtain NHS services may be treated as fraud.

7. Pricing & Payment

All prices are clearly communicated prior to any purchase or service being provided, in accordance with the GOC Standards of Practice. Prices for private eye examinations start from £65; other services are priced individually and displayed in practice and on our Website.

All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is accepted by cash, debit card, and major credit cards. Payment is due at the time of service or upon collection of dispensed items unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

Specialist orders (including bespoke frames or lenses) may require a deposit. Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel after the order has been placed with the manufacturer, except where required by law.

8. Returns, Refunds & Your Consumer Rights

8.1 Faulty or Misdescribed Goods

If spectacles, contact lenses, or other optical appliances are found to be faulty or not as described, you have the right to a repair, replacement, or full refund in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8.2 Adaptation Period

It is normal for new spectacles, particularly progressive or varifocal lenses, to require an adaptation period. If you are experiencing difficulties, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assess whether an adjustment or re-glaze is appropriate.

8.3 Clinical Services

Professional services (such as eye examinations) are not subject to the same right of cancellation as goods, as they constitute healthcare services. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 are not affected by these Terms.

9. Your Health & Clinical Responsibility

You must inform us of any changes to your health, medication, or medical history that may affect your eye health or the suitability of optical appliances. This includes conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma, hypertension, and any family history of eye disease.

Our clinical recommendations are based on the information you provide. Withholding relevant health information may affect the quality and safety of the services provided. Aristone Optical cannot be held responsible for adverse outcomes resulting from information you have not disclosed.

Eye examinations at Aristone Optical are not a substitute for emergency or hospital ophthalmology care. If you present with symptoms that require urgent specialist attention, we will refer you appropriately.

10. Data Protection & Privacy

We are committed to protecting your personal data. As an optical healthcare provider, we process personal data - including health data, which constitutes special category data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of data arising from your use of our Website. Our total liability to you in respect of any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
